Helpful Laundry Hacks
Label, Label, Label
Our first laundry hack centers around organization. Why spend time separating out clothing colors or types once you have a full basket of laundry when you can have them separated from the beginning? Label your hampers to keep you and your family on track when filling up the baskets. Pro tip: label your drawers as well to keep them neat!
Removing Ink Stains
Ink stains can be difficult to remove from shirts and pants. But here’s a helpful hack for removing pesky pen stains, even when you’re traveling and don’t have a full laundry product arsenal at your disposal. Using hairspray or hand sanitizer can help break down the stain. Spray or spread the product on the stain, let it sit for about 10 minutes, and then wash regularly! Voila!
Fold Right Away
It can be very tempting to leave baskets of clean clothes sitting around until you have time to fold them, but don’t procrastinate! Folding your clothes right after they come out of the dryer has many benefits. These includes less wrinkles, laundry pile-up, and potential mildew smell. You will be amazed at how much time you actually save by folding your clothes right away!
Use Garment Bags
Garment bags do not only need to be used for your fragile laundry items. Use a garment bag to keep track of baby socks and other small items and don’t risk losing them to the washing machine again.
Zip & Unbutton
Zipping up pant flys and sweatshirts is a great idea to prevent snagging and potential damage to your more gentle items. Unbuttoning your shirts before washing can help to make sure you get an even clean on your shirts and prevent any loosening of your buttons.
Safely Wash Stuffed Animals
Washing your child’s favorite friend doesn’t have to be a scary experience! Use a garment bag or pillowcase to keep their stuffed companion safe and put their fears at ease during the process.
Add Essential Oils
Do you have sensitive skin but still want to enjoy lovely smelling laundry? One laundry hack for sensitive skin is to add a few drops of essential oils to your wash load along with the normal amount of your HEX Free & Clear detergent. The essential oils will add a wonderful smell to your laundry without the itch. Caution to pet owners: certain types of essential oils can be toxic to petsmore about essential oils & laundry
