HEX Performance is looking for outgoing, marketing-savvy leaders to join our marketing team and help build awareness locally through strategic education activities. Play a crucial role as the face of the brand while introducing customers through trial, and spread the word through events, local partnerships, guerrilla marketing, and other creative strategies.

Headquartered out of Federal Hill in Baltimore, MD, HEX Performance is a dynamic start-up and emerging leader in the laundry detergent space. With an innovative product that cleans and protects today’s performance fabrics and all laundry, HEX eliminate odor in even the worst smelling athletic gear. HEX Performance is laundry detergent, evolved.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for growing trial and awareness throughout Baltimore/MD market
  • Execute weekly events and demos at area- retailers, gyms, and with other coordinated partnerships
  • Responsible for submitting monthly marketing plans and activation recaps to Director of Field Marketing within established timelines
  • Create compelling sampling experiences to potential new customers through product and brand education
  • Establish and maintain local marketing partnership opportunities
  • Research and execute local guerrilla marketing techniques to increase visibility and trial

Regional Marketing Activations Manager - Maryland

Job description

As our brand continues to grow nationally, we know the same passion and enthusiasm we have for HEX must do the same. That’s where the Regional Marketing Activations Manager comes in.

This position will spearhead local activations and cultivation of the brand directly to audiences unfamiliar with HEX; all while living and breathing the brand. As guru of all things local, you’ll target and educate Marylanders where they're sweating the most. Yoga studios and fitness clubs? Check. 5K race or regional youth lacrosse tournament? Check.

This role won’t fly solo. You’ll develop, manage, and mentor a local team of HEX Heroes to rapidly boost activations within the market, leading to regional expansion and strategic opportunities outside of sampling via partnerships, sponsorships, and the like.

The Daily Grind:

You are the Face of the Brand.

Once you personally see the results of washing with HEX, the hardest part will be not talking about it 24/7. The Regional Marketing Activations Manager will spread the good gospel of HEX throughout the region, using the most creative and scrappy means possible. Planned marketing initiatives will primarily focus on driving trial to specified retailers through daily events, outreach, grassroots execution, and development of localized influencers.

Timing for activations will range, as you’ll authentically engage active-lifestyle audiences during the busiest times to sweat. This can include early mornings, evenings, and weekends when applicable. Upon market expansion, travel outside of your home market will occur; as you play a pivotal part of new market launches (while continuing to manage your teams from afar). This role reports directly to the Director of Field Marketing, based out of HEX Performance’s HQ in Baltimore, MD.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing Activations, Partnerships + Grassroots Opportunities -

  • Identify, prioritize, and execute strategic marketing plans through key local event opportunities to drive trial to retail, through compelling product sampling experiences and consumer education efforts
  • Understanding of the market's active-lifestyle and retail geo-landscape; including market’s most popular fitness clubs, studios, athletic and community events, and HEX retail locations
  • Able to creatively leverage external partnerships for experiential marketing events to allow greater involvement outside of just logo inclusion, vendor tents, and product distribution
  • Skilled in the art of sponsorship contract negotiations, when necessary
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with market's influencers (personal trainers, mommy bloggers, local celebrities, etc.) to become HEX advocates within their own social and digital networks
  • Collaboration with Director of Field Marketing and HEX HQ for national marketing and retail initiatives, events, and partnerships/sponsorships

Admin & Management -

  • Ongoing planning, execution, and management of multiple markets’ quarterly activations and promotions calendar; weekly reporting of measured field marketing efforts, ROI/CAC, sampling evaluations, and post-activation impact on retail
  • Manage and forecast a monthly budget and sampling/merchandise inventory, per market
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a local brand ambassador team of 5-10 part-time employees
  • Daily mentorship and communication with team to ensure execution meets brand guidelines

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Energetic and positive leader with the entrepreneurial spirit to be an immediate contributor
  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in marketing or related field preferred
  • 2-5 years experience in field marketing, events/promotional work, or Consumer Package Goods highly desired
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills
  • Self-starter who is able to multitask within a face-paced environment
  • Prior experience in budget management and annual forecasting
